[Gift] Reinforcements
Theseus, having struggled to defeat Livyatan on her own, has finally received some much needed reinforcements in the form of a bronze torpedo. As she is captured in one of the jaws of the mighty primal, a caramel hued ridgewalker swims ferociously toward the massive neck of Livyatan.
“Heard you might need some help there, ma’am.” The smooth bodied ridgewalker calls up to the fluffy sapiere.
Theseus watches in confusion, where had that dragon come from, was he hiding this whole time, watching her struggle to best Livyatan. She couldn’t get too many more thoughts as the crunch of the rayfin teeth meeting her ribs overwhelmed her senses. The force of Livyatan’s jaws drew a gut wrenching roar from her maw, before she released her breath. A mass of inky smoke covers the whole of Theseus’ body, entering the maw of the enemy causing him to release his grip and reel back at the taste of the poisonous cloud.
Once free from the death trap, she looks down to the ridgewalker first before seeing the state of their fighting grounds. The once tall, strong seamounts, now a fractured underwater mountain. Their raging battle resulted in a rugged landscape of scattered rock formations and steep, uneven slopes. The hiding place that her kitten had been, now free of any hiding spots, and kittens. Panic begins to cross her face as she worries that she had been careless and her kitten had paid the price.
“Merow?” A muffled yet strong call coming from the collapsed sea walls.
The relief washes over Theseus as Kitty pokes her triclops furry face out from her new safe haven. Three eyes blinking up at her, unimpressed that the fighting has not yet concluded. Chuffing at the kitten, Theseus turns her attention back toward Livyatan, surely the dragon had to have a weakness, or be tiring out in some way. Looking back at the primal, she’s reminded again just how drastic the size difference is between the two, with Livyatan’s heads nearly her body three times over. So large is the obsidian sea monster that her reinforcements can barely be seen launching headbash after headbash against his flank.
“Get out of there! He’s dangerous!” Screaming at the newcomer in hopes that she can get him to retreat to her before he gets himself into serious trouble.
Her hails do not fall on deaf ears, as the ridgewalker makes quick work of avoiding the flailing fins of the water dragon, joining her some ways away. “Name’s Tiramisu, and I simply want to help. Tell me what you need me to do.” Wearing a goofy grin as if he didn’t understand the gravity of their plight.
“I need you to help keep him distracted, if you’ve got any elements you can use, we can assault his senses from multiple sides.” She winces as her wings flutter to keep her upright against the rippling currents caused by Livyatan’s angry flailing.
Curious to her injuries, Tiramisu swiftly swims closer to inspect, “You don’t seem to be any better off than that brute. Maybe we retreat and come back when you’re healed?” Genuine worry on his face for this stubborn stranger.
Shaking her head, “We can’t leave him like this. I’ve been fighting him for 2 days. He’s got to be tired too. If we leave him to heal, he will certainly do much of the same.” She nods at the plateau near Livyatan’s head, jutting from the fallen seamount. “I’ll be perched there, you keep his aimless attacks focused on you and we can end this.”
As if sensing the other two creatures gearing for a final attack, the primordial hydra ceases his flailing, fins slowly wafting through the water with ease, steady and focused. It would seem that this grandstanding would not be as easy as Theseus had hoped. Nevertheless, she wasn’t alone in this moment, and though she knew nothing but the name of her companion, it would not be the last time that they spoke.
A blood curdling roar rages against the walls of their arena, vibrating the waters around them, as from all but the middle head of Livyatan roar in defiance. The middle head, though eyes blinded by the millennial in the chasms, look directly through Theseus and Tiramisu. Leaving the two to shiver in anticipation for their last stand. Acting on instinct and impulse alone, the two dragons of land and air snarl and bare their teeth at the stare.
Abandoning the plan, Theseus charges in headstrong, not determined to be the one to fall this day. She’d fought too hard, come too far to fall to one so lost to corruption. So too does Tiramisu, driven by the primal force that he’d never known before that moment. Pulled by the same force that had brought him to the scene of battle mere moments ago. The two dragons charge forward, determination, pride, ignorance, defiance in their eyes.
Tiramisu twisting and twirling through the water, the markings on his chest swirling hypnotically as he closes the distance, the markings on his hand legs seem to liquify, matching the fluidity of his movements. His legs tucked close to his body, his powerful tail propelling him forward, every twist and flick stronger than the last. His eyes fixed on the point in which he aims, the neck, just below the jawline of the middle head. He readies himself, braces his body for the sheer force to come from the impact when his horns meet the shimmering scales of their adversary.
Theseus the visage of aggression, her wings unfurled, flapping in time with her legs clawing at the water, fighting to get through the thick tension between the giant dragon and the feather winged dragon. Her vibrant red eyes never deviate from Livyatan’s empty stare. The blue green gradient of her throat patch begins to darken as she opens her mouth, ignoring the rush of water down her throat as she too closes the distance, preparing another massive toxic cloud.
