Calin is not a particularly nice dragon, but he is also not evil. He steals from pretty much everyone. Trusting him with anything that could be sold is a very bad idea indeed. The Sapiere is quite skilled in interactions with dragons and humans alike, often managing to win their trust. For Calin, live is a game and tricking other creatures is his way of having fun. He doesn't see it as bad, after all, one should get suspicious if someone offers you a saddle in good condition for only half of its actual worth. It is possible to get Calin on ones side, even though this requires ether death threats or the promise of a good adrenaline kick when he plays with others. The Sapiere is very quick, owning to him getting run out of towns whenever his scams are discovered. Calin also often splatters mud on him or paints himself to not be recognized.
