Born in the first era during Empyrean's foundation, Reaver was one of the first mages, and certainly the most deadly. Through his own hubris and pride, he created what is commonly known as Corruption, a physical ailment caused by exposure to unblemished Aether from The Below that often takes the very life of those it infects. Due to his own corruption, and the sheer strength and attunement to his magic and his dragon, Reaver has remained immortal since the first era - but is rarely seen. Only showing up when absolutely necessary (and most often late at that), he is a thorn in the side of world leaders who both need his assistance and guidance, but hate to deal with his cocky attitude. 

Reaver's magic is a wild, unfurled power that is capable of bending and reshaping reality in extreme conditions. Though his days of meddling in most world affairs are over, his constant battle to "cure corruption" is ongoing, and if the Aether is lurking, he is often nearby. 

As he is an immortal being, he is shunned and considered an abomination by most, if not all, societies. Unless his help is directly needed, most will close their doors on him if given the chance.
